Triple Berry Smoothie
MAKES ABOUT 3 to 4 CUPS • PREP TIME: 5 minutes
ingredients
1 cup organic plain yogurt or dairy-free yogurt
¼ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
1 cup frozen strawberries
1½ cups frozen blueberries
½ cup frozen raspberries
1 tablespoon finely ground flaxseeds
1½ teaspoons Grade A Dark Amber maple syrup
preparations
Blend all the ingredients until smooth and creamy. Store leftovers in an airtight glass container in the refrigerator for 2 days. Shake well before serving.
ADDITIONS:
For more protein, add a scoop of protein powder, collagen or 2 tablespoons of almond butter.
For additional healthy fat and calories, add 1 tablespoon of unrefined virgin coconut oil.
For added zing, add 1 teaspoon grated ginger.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
Swap lemon juice for the orange juice.
Substitute peaches, cherries or blackberries for the strawberries or raspberries.
For a thinner consistency, swap the yogurt for ¾ to 1 cup milk or non-dairy milk.
