Global Flavorprints

Here are more Global Flavorprints- Spice Blends along with complementary herbs for garnish. Try them with the recipes in The Power of Yum.

Argentina

¼ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon cumin
Garnish with fresh parsley.

France -- particularly the region of Provence

½ teaspoon dried thyme
¼ teaspoon dried oregano
¼ teaspoon dried rosemary 
½ teaspoon fennel seed

OR 1½ teaspoons Herbs de Provence

Garnish with fresh parsley and a drizzle of olive oil.

Greece

3 cloves garlic, chopped
½ teaspoon oregano
Garnish with fresh mint and dill.

Italy -- particularly the region of Tuscany

3 cloves of garlic, chopped
¼ teaspoon fennel seed
Pinch of red chili pepper flakes

Optional Add-ins:
1 (15-ounce) can of diced tomatoes with their juice 
1 (15-ounce) can cannellini beans or other white beans

Garnish with fresh parsley, fresh basil, a drizzle of olive oil and parmesan cheese

Latvia

3 cloves garlic, chopped
Garnish with fresh dill and parsle.y

Spain

3 cloves garlic, chopped 
A generous pinch of saffron
¼ teaspoon oregano
Garnish with parsley.

Turkey

¼ teaspoon cumin
¼ teaspoon dried thyme

Garnish with fresh mint.
